I am incredibly grateful for the support and guidance I received from Jane Katkova & Associates. Throughout the entire process, they were patient, honest, and incredibly thorough, always making sure I understood all my options. I consistently felt heard, supported, and well represented. We worked with Jane Katkova & Associates for over three years, fighting for our future. They never gave up on our case, even when things felt overwhelming and uncertain. After three long years, we achieved a positive outcome, and our Permanent Residence was finally approved. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone looking for a legal team that truly fights for their clients until the very end.

Enter your due date to see the key deadlines: visa, hospital booking, the last comfortable week to fly, and your baby's documents.

A lifelong advantage for your child
Canadian citizenship by birth is set out in the Citizenship Act. It is not a visa or a temporary status. It is citizenship.
Citizenship from day one
Automatic at birth for virtually every child born in Canada, whatever the parents' nationality.
A top-ranked passport
Visa-free or visa-on-arrival travel to well over 100 destinations, for life.
Study as a Canadian
Your child can later study in Canada at domestic tuition rates, often a fraction of international fees.
The right to live & work
Your child can choose to live, study and work in Canada at any point in their life.
What citizenship by birth does, and what it doesn't
Many agencies over-promise. We'd rather you decide with the full picture. It's also how we keep your visa application credible.
Ask a licensed consultantWhat your child gets
- Canadian citizenship for life, from birth
- The right to a Canadian passport
- The right to live, study and work in Canada
- Domestic (not international) tuition rates later in life
What it doesn't do
- It gives parents and siblings no status in Canada
- A child can only sponsor parents after age 18, and only if they meet income rules
- Public healthcare depends on living in a province, not citizenship alone. Visitors pay for the birth privately
- Some countries restrict dual citizenship. Check your home country's rules (we flag this in your assessment)

What does it cost to give birth in Canada?
As a visitor, you pay privately for medical care, so a realistic budget matters. Exact costs depend on the city, the hospital, the type of delivery and how long you stay. Your assessment includes a personalised estimate.
Good to know: most travel insurance policies exclude pregnancy and childbirth. Hospitals may ask for a deposit before delivery, and a caesarean or NICU stay can raise costs significantly. We help you plan a buffer.

Families trust us with what matters most
My experience working with Jane and her team on a visitor visa application was excellent. Our application had been rejected several times before friends recommended Jane Katkova to us. From our very first meeting, Jane set realistic expectations. She was confident and clearly explained the strategy for handling the case, the potential challenges, and how she planned to address them. Jane and Ruslana, our case manager, guided us every step of the way with patience and clarity. Thanks to their support and dedication, the application was successful, and we recently received a multiple-entry visitor visa.
I had an excellent experience with this law firm. I truly appreciate their prompt responses, professionalism, and attention to detail throughout the entire process. The team is incredibly friendly, supportive, and genuinely cares about their clients. They guided me every step of the way and made everything feel clear and manageable. Definitely a 5-star experience!
Since coming to Canada, I consulted several immigration lawyers for different matters. Choosing this firm was absolutely the right decision. My husband's case was very complicated, and our journey was long and challenging. Despite the complexity, they handled everything with outstanding professionalism and dedication, and we won. They were honest, supportive, and always did exactly what they promised from the very beginning. Their expertise and commitment gave me confidence during a very stressful time.
I am very grateful to my consultant Jane Katkova and assistant Ruslana for helping me with my H&C PR application in Canada. They prepared and submitted all my documents professionally and with great attention to detail. We waited 2 years for the decision, and throughout the entire process Ruslana was supportive, responsive, and always reassuring. Thanks to their hard work, I received my AIP today.
I'm very happy I got to the right place once my working permit got expired. Jane and Krikor were very helpful. They were able to obtain another one for me. Our communication was very efficient and I was receiving updates on my file from them without even reaching out myself.
I am incredibly grateful to the team for their exceptional professionalism and high level of responsibility. They successfully handled my very complex case when other options seemed exhausted. Special thanks to Jane and Ruslana for their dedication and expertise throughout the entire process. They are true experts who get results!
Questions families ask before they decide
Does every child born in Canada get Canadian citizenship?
Yes. With very narrow exceptions, such as children of foreign diplomats, a child born in Canada is a Canadian citizen at birth, regardless of the parents' nationality or immigration status.
Can I get a Canadian visitor visa while pregnant?
Yes, it's possible. You must be honest about your pregnancy and the purpose of your trip, and show you can pay for all medical and living costs. Hiding a pregnancy is misrepresentation and can lead to a refusal and a ban. The decision is always the visa officer's, and no one can guarantee approval. What we do is make sure your application is complete and credible.
When should I start planning?
As early as possible, ideally in your first trimester. Visa processing times vary by country, hospitals and doctors need to be booked in advance, and most airlines restrict travel late in pregnancy. Use the timeline check above for a quick view.
How much does it cost in total?
Most families budget from USD $20,000 in total, including medical fees, accommodation, flights and living costs. A caesarean section or a newborn intensive-care stay can cost significantly more. Your assessment includes a personalised estimate, and our professional fee is fixed in writing upfront.
Will Canadian healthcare or my insurance cover the birth?
Public healthcare covers residents of a province, not visitors, so you pay hospital and doctor fees privately. Most travel insurance excludes pregnancy and childbirth. We help you plan for this before you travel.
Does giving birth in Canada give the parents status?
No. Your child's citizenship does not give parents or siblings any status. A Canadian citizen can only sponsor parents once they are 18 or older and meet the income requirements. We explain the realistic long-term options in your assessment.
What documents does my baby need after birth?
The birth is registered with the province (in Ontario, within 30 days). The provincial birth certificate is your child's proof of Canadian citizenship and is used to apply for a Canadian passport. Depending on your country, your baby may also need a passport or registration from your own embassy before flying home. We guide you through each step.
Does my home country allow dual citizenship?
Rules differ, and some countries restrict or don't recognise dual citizenship. Check this with your own country's authorities before you plan. We flag it during your assessment so there are no surprises.
Can you guarantee my visa will be approved?
No, and you should be cautious of anyone who does. Licensed consultants are not allowed to guarantee outcomes. We can guarantee a carefully prepared, honest application and clear advice about your chances.
